Restoring Lives and Rebuilding Families
The Voice of Victory Prison Ministry came into existence in the spring of 2001 after our son Russ Jr. was arrested and convicted and given an 18-year sentence in the state of North Carolina. Our hearts and thinking process was changed forever about prisoners. Through the situation with our son, the Lord Jesus gave us a Call and a LOVE, to reach prisoners with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord spoke to our heart and shared with us that these men and women are special sons and daughters to someone. Many parents have asked us to pray and to visit their child in prison.
There are some 7.2 million men and women currently under the Correctional Supervision here in these United States of America.
Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity. We must reach those that are in prison and show them the LOVE of Jesus Christ that they can be forgiven of their sins and that God will Love and save them no matter what. This is real Christianity in action. 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity (LOVE) among yourselves: for charity (LOVE) shall cover the multitude of sins.
Our involvement with United Flight 93 that crashed in Somerset County on September 11, 2001, has opened so many doors with the prison system. We believe that the Lord used this terrible tragedy to thrust this new ministry into existence. My wife Susan and I have a heart and a desire to reach these inmates with the Gospel of Christ. Being a Pastor for over 29 years, I did not see the need to reach the incarcerated. I have asked God to forgive me and to allow me to help Churches all over this land to reach into every local, state and federal prison and share the Love of Christ. Maybe you have never felt the incredible hurt having a love one arrested, but you can help those that are hurting, and reach out to those that are incarcerated.
If I may assist you or your church in reaching the incarcerated in your area or help start a prison ministry, please contact me.
